There are five main ways people can stream to the BoxCast Platform:
Any RTMP-Compatible Encoder (Wirecast, OBS, Teredek Vidiu, etc.)
In this article, we will talk about how to add these encoders to the BoxCast Dashboard to begin streaming. Check the Sources tab to view which sources you currently have added in your BoxCast Dashboard.
BoxCaster + BoxCaster Pro
If you purchased a BoxCaster from BoxCast, it will automatically appear on your account. If you purchased your BoxCaster from a third party and already have a BoxCast account, please reach out to questions@boxcast.com and we will be able to add it to your account.
Broadcaster App from BoxCast
Once you have an account with BoxCast, you can go to the App Store on your iPhone or iPad and download the Broadcaster app from BoxCast. Once you download it and log in, you'll see the Broadcaster app inside your Dashboard and under the Sources tab. If you have a free trial with BoxCast, you can use this app as well. Learn how to use the Broadcaster app.
BoxCast Producer
Producer, BoxCast's browser-based streaming product, is automatically added under your sources in your account, so you don't need to add it. You can also schedule a broadcast from the Producer tab inside the Dashboard.
Any RTMP-Compatible Encoder (Wirecast, OBS, Teradek Vidiu etc.)
If you plan on streaming with an RTMP encoder, you'll want to click on the Sources tab of the BoxCast Dashboard.
Next click on Add Source, in the top-right corner.
Most of the RTMP encoders will fall under the Streaming Software section, but feel free to search around and add your encoder. If you don't see it, click the RTMP option.
Once added, you'll be able to get your RTMP URL, Server URL, and Stream Key.
If you have other questions about adding a source to the BoxCast Dashboard, please reach out to questions@boxcast.com and we'll be happy to help!
