Listed below are the different ways broadcasters can stream to the BoxCast platform:
Spark by BoxCast
Broadcaster App by BoxCast
Producer by BoxCast
This article covers adding encoders (sources) to your BoxCast Dashboard to begin streaming. Navigate to the Sources page to view which encoders you currently have listed, or to add more.
Spark + BoxCaster + BoxCaster Pro
If you purchased a BoxCast encoder from BoxCast, the device will automatically appear registered to your streaming account before it arrives. If you find otherwise, or if you purchased your BoxCast encoder from a third party, please contact questions@boxcast.com and we'll help you connect the device to your account.
Please note that while the BoxCaster and BoxCaster Pro are still supported encoders, sale of these devices have been discontinued.
Broadcaster App from BoxCast
With a BoxCast streaming account, open the Apple App Store on your iPhone or iPad and download the Broadcaster app from BoxCast. Following download, log in to the app using the same credentials you would use for logging in to your BoxCast Dashboard. Note that the Broadcaster app will only appear as a source on the Sources page after you've gone live from it. Don't be alarmed, as Broadcaster app will always appear as Online once added. Learn here how to use Broadcaster app!
BoxCast Producer
Producer is BoxCast's browser-based streaming product. There is no need to add Producer, as it is automatically listed on the Sources page of your BoxCast Dashboard. If you are not seeing Producer listed as a source, please contact questions@boxcast.com and we will assist with enabling for your account. Producer will also always appear as Online. Learn how to use Producer!
RTMP and SRT Encoders
There are numerous third-party encoders available for live streaming via RTMP and SRT, whether software or hardware based. In many instances, these encoders are capable of doing either. Learn here how to add a new RTMP source, or how to add a new SRT source.
If you have additional questions about adding a source in your BoxCast Dashboard, please contact questions@boxcast.com and we'd be happy to assist further!
