Just as a website asks for permission to access your computer's camera or microphone, BoxCast may ask for MIDI device permissions from your browser if you plan on using some sort of MIDI device, like Behringer's X-Touch control surface.
The table below outlines which browsers support WebMIDI. Please note that Safari is not supported.
Browser | Windows Version | Mac Version | Notes |
Chrome | 142.0.7404.0 | 142.0.7404.0 |
|
Edge | 140.0.3485.54 | 140.0.3485.54 |
|
Firefox | 142.0.1 | 142.0.1 | Requires add-on for install |
Brave | 1.82.161 | 1.82.161 | |
Chromium | 140.0.7339.80 | 140.0.7339.80 |
|
Using Google Chrome in the example below, step through the following to view and change MIDI device permissions for BoxCast.
Select the browser tab BoxCast is open on
Click the site information button and select Site settings
Find MIDI device control and reprogram and click its dropdown menu to select from the different options offered.
Brave MIDI Permissions
By default, Brave sets the permission to “until I close this site” but you will need to click Allow every time you quit the browser and then re-open it. You may use the Remember my decision dropdown and change your preference for how Brave behaves.
