Browser add-ons and extensions can make your internet browsing experience smoother and more customized. However, certain extensions can negatively affect how the BoxCast Dashboard operates and how it is rendered in your browser. Read on to find out how to whitelist the BoxCast domain in the most popular browser extensions.

How to Whitelist BoxCast's website in your browser add-ons + extensions

Adblock

Navigate to your BoxCast Streaming Dashboard.

Next, click on the Adblock icon on your browser’s extension bar.

The Adblock menu will appear. Under the option Pause on this site, click Always.

After clicking the “Always” button, the Dashboard page will reload. The Adblock icon will now turn green, indicating that the Dashboard has been successfully whitelisted.

We recommend consulting Adblock’s documentation for detailed configuration information. Simply click on the gear icon in the Adblock menu.

Next, click the Adblock Plus icon on your browser’s extension bar.

The Adblock Plus menu will appear. Under the option Block ads on and This website, click on the toggle to disable Adblock Plus on the Dashboard.

You will be prompted to refresh the page by clicking the Refresh button at the bottom of the Adblock Plus menu.

After clicking the Refresh button, the Dashboard page will reload. The Adblock Plus icon will now turn grey, indicating that the Dashboard has been successfully whitelisted.

We recommend consulting Adblock’s documentation for detailed configuration information. Simply click on the gear icon in the Adblock menu.

uBlock Origin

Next, click on the uBlock Origin icon on your browser’s extension bar.

The uBlock Origin menu will appear.

Click on the power symbol button (⏻). The symbol should now be transparent or colorless.

Next to the power symbol, a refresh symbol will appear. Click this to refresh the Dashboard and apply the whitelist changes.

After clicking the refresh symbol button, the Dashboard page will reload. The uBlock Origin icon on your extension bar will now turn grey, indicating that the Dashboard has been successfully whitelisted.

For more in-depth configuration information, we recommend consulting uBlock Origin’s documentation by clicking on the gear icon in the uBlock Origin menu.

Common Questions

I can’t find the extension in my extension bar! Where is it?

Some browsers may truncate or hide extensions either by default or if you have a lot installed. Here are the steps to locating your extensions for a few common browsers:

Google Chrome: To the right of your address bar will be the Extensions icon (which looks like a puzzle piece). Click on this icon, then click the Pin option next to the extension you want to view in the toolbar.

Mozilla Firefox: To the far right of your address and/or search bar, find the Extensions icon. Click on this icon, then click the gear icon next to the extension you want to view in the toolbar. Click “Pin to Toolbar.”

Apple Safari: For Safari, we recommend following this guide on Apple’s Support page: Use Safari extensions on your Mac - Apple Support

I disabled the extension on the BoxCast Dashboard, but I’m still having issues. What should I do?

If you’re still having trouble with the Dashboard after disabling your extensions, we recommend restarting the browser, making sure the browser is fully updated, clearing the browser cache and cookies, then trying again. If you’re still having trouble after performing these steps, please test with a different browser or device.

If you are still unable to use the Dashboard after trying a different browser or device, please contact our Technical Support team at questions@boxcast.com.

Why do I need to disable my extensions to use the Dashboard?

While most extensions do not interfere with how the Dashboard works and operates, certain ad-blocking extensions, such as the ones listed above, can flag core processes in the Dashboard as a false-positive. This can prevent the Dashboard from loading correctly, displaying certain elements (such as video players or text editing boxes), allowing file uploads, or from loading at all. While we do not recommend removing extensions that you use on your browser entirely, whitelisting the BoxCast Dashboard URL can mitigate many of these issues you may encounter.
