Spark gives you the ability to record directly to a microSD card as backup for your live stream. So as long as you have a microSD card inserted into Spark, we will automatically start recording onto the card once the stream starts. This recording will also continue to work if you lose internet during the broadcast.

To be clear, Spark will only start a recording if you schedule a live stream. Once you are live, the recording will automatically begin. There is no record button.

Below are a list of microSD cards we recommend. If you have a different microSD card, we recommend testing it, before buying a new one.

SanDisk 128GB Extreme microSDXC UHS-I
SanDisk 256GB Extreme microSDXC UHS-I

Once you insert your microSD card, an icon will appear at the top of the screen.

Press that icon to see how much space you have on the card or if the card is compatible with Spark.

Spark requires a microSD to be formatted to EXFAT or ext4. If your card shows you a message saying the following, you should format your card to EXFAT, so it’s compatible with both PC and Windows computers.

*To format your card correct on a mac, watch this video. To do this on a PC, watch this video.

Once you have the correct format, the microSD card will automatically record your broadcast as soon as you start streaming. When you are done streaming, you can access your recordings by taking the microSD card out of Spark and inserting it into your computer. The recordings will be in .mp4 format.
