With BoxCast's Download feature, you may download your recorded broadcasts directly from the BoxCast Dasboard to your computer, or send a link to others for downloading onto their devices. You may also export broadcasts to YouTube or Vimeo if you have integrated either in your BoxCast Dashboard.
Download a Video File
Begin by clicking on a past broadcast. Note that Simulated Live re-broadcasts cannot be downloaded.
Click the Download or Export Recording button and Generate Download. The file may take several minutes to generate, so you are free to close the window and continue working elsewere in your dashboard as needed.
Following generation of the download, click the Download Video button to download an mp4 file of the broadcast. The file may take several minutes to download, so you are free to continue working elsewere in your dashboard as needed.
NOTE: A generated download expires after 30 days. If it's been over 30 days since a download was generated and the broadcast is needing downloaded, simply re-generate the download.
Copy a download link for sending to others. As some examples, this is great for providing a couple with the video of their wedding, or for a family member whose loved one's memorial service was broadcasted.
NOTE: The download link expires after roughly 6-8 hours. Advise link recipients to use their link as soon as possible.
Download an Audio-Only File
There is also an option to generate and download an m4a audio file. Just as in the above steps for downloading a video file, first generate the file and then it will be available to download.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long do I have for downloading a recorded broadcast before it's deleted from my BoxCast Dashboard?
Check your BoxCast subscription's storage from the Storage page of your Dashboard. If your storage preference is set to Auto-Delete, you will want to routinely download your broadcast well before the broadcast reaches the end of its free storage duration. Once a broadcast is deleted, it cannot be downloaded.
How do I know where on the computer my file was downloaded?
This depends on which browser you're operating from, but it may be changed as needed. Below are just a couple of examples of where in your browser settings download locations may be determined.
Chrome: Settings > downloads
Firefox: Settings > General > Files and Applications > Downloads
Is there a bulk download option?
While BoxCast does not provide a way of selecting multiple broadcasts for initiating downloading all at once, you may initiate generating the download for one broadcast, close and then find the next broadcast you wish to generate a download for (the same goes for download of the file). In other words, multiple files may be generating or downloading at the same time, just not from a single click.
