A thumbnail is the first impression your video makes. It's a visual hook that can determine whether someone clicks on your video or scrolls past. The Pre-Broadcast Thumbnail image will appear on your video player before the stream starts, and the Post-Broadcast Thumbnail will appear after the broadcast is complete. Here's how to set them up.

Set Pre and Post Broadcast Thumbnails

Open the Schedule page to create an event.

Under Broadcast Details, click to expand the view that says Description + Thumbnail Image.

First, you'll select a Pre-Broadcast Thumbnail, which you can upload to the platform. File format and size should be .png or .jpg and 1280x720.

You then have options for your Post-Broadcast Thumbnail:

Choose to automatically select a frame from your broadcast to use as your post-broadcast thumbnail.

Note: The frame will be automatically chosen for you, but can be updated after the broadcast (see how below).

Choose for the Post-Broadcast Thumbnail to be the same as the Pre-Broadcast Thumbnail.

Choose to upload an entirely different Post-Broadcast Thumbnail image.

Change Post-Broadcast Thumbnail after a Broadcast is Over

Navigate to the broadcast you'd like to edit under Broadcasts, then hit Edit Broadcasts.

Scroll down to Post-Broadcast Thumbnail, and choose the option you'd like for the thumbnail.

This is also where you can select a different frame from the recording than the one that was automatically chosen for you. Simply choose Select a New Frame from Broadcast, choose the new frame, click Set as Thumbnail, and hit Update.
