Why Can't I Hear My RemoteMix Audio Preview?

Written by Mindy Worley

Better experience BoxCast RemoteMix using the Google Chrome browser. Other browsers may not work as expected.

Verify Physical Connections

It sounds simple, but start by double-checking the physical cables. Make sure that your mixer is securely plugged into the device running the BoxCast RemoteMix app. If the hardware isn't physically talking to the computer, the software won't be able to hear it!

Check Audio Input in the App

If using the BoxCast RemoteMix app, confirm that the correct audio input is selected. This might be something like your mixer's USB output, a USB audio interface, or Dante network.

Confirm Mixer Routing

Don't forget to check the "other side" of the cable—the mixer itself. Make sure your mixer is actually routing the intended mix to the USB output (or whichever output you’re using) that connects to your agent device.

Optimize Browser Settings

Since preview on the remote mixing device relies on its browser's performance, make certain Chrome’s graphics acceleration is enabled. Go to Settings > System, and ensure that Use graphics acceleration when available is enabled. If already enabled but issues persist, try toggling the setting off and back on again.

Check GPU & HEVC Support

Your remote mixing device's GPU must support HEVC playback. You may need to download and install the HEVC Video Extensions from the Microsoft Store if you are on a Windows computer.
