When connecting certain Allen & Heath mixers in RemoteMix, you may be alerted that All available connections to this mixer are in use. Please disconnect one in order to access your mixer. This is due to a limitation with how many connections can be made between the mixer and other programs.

As an example, the SQ-7 mixer pictured below shows two connections with the RemoteMix Software Agent - one Stream Dedicated Mixer connection (full mixer access) and one Shared Mixer connection (restricted mixer access). Allen & Heath currently limits the mixer to two full-access connections. This may lead you to ask, why am I seeing the alert when there is only one full-access connection shown? This would suggest the mixer is connecting with other programs like the SQ MixPad app, or a PC with the MixingStation desktop app.

There are two options to consider when resolving the connection limit.

  1. Power cycle the mixer. Without knowing which programs the mixer is connecting to besides RemoteMix, power cycling the mixer should keep it from automatically connecting back to the other programs in question once it boots back up. This allows for reconnecting the mixer in RemoteMix once freed up.

  2. Disconnect the RemoteMix Software Agent from the mixer.
