Adding captions to your social media videos makes them more inclusive, engaging, and discoverable. Here's how to add captions to a clip with our Sharing feature.

Click on the Sharing tab in the left nav bar of the BoxCast Streaming Dashboard.

Create a clip, or click on one that you already have created. Click on Actions, then Edit.

The edit screen will open up inside the Captions tab automatically.

You'll be able to choose between three different styles of captions: Plain Text, Karaoke Text, and Box Highlight. Click on the various styles and hit the play button on the preview player to see what they look like.

You also have control over the font size, text color, and stroke color. The stroke color is the color that highlights the outline of the text. You can also choose whether to position the captions at the top, middle, or bottom of the video.

To view a transcript of the captions, you can click on the Transcript tab. Unfortunately at this time, they are not editable. If there are any major issues, we encourage you to report them to us via email at questions@boxcast.com, or in the chat.

We understand the importance of editing transcripts for typos, and are working on adding this feature soon. In the meantime, you can easily turn off captions and edit them using your preferred software.

Thanks for your patience as we continue to build out this feature, and happy posting!
