Facebook Says You Don't Meet the Criteria to Go Live

Update: Facebook has announced a new policy that your page or profile must have 100 followers and must be 60 days old in order for you to live stream to it.

This change will go into effect on June 10, 2024.

If you are affected by this issue you may see the following Permissions Error in your BoxCast Dashboard:

If you try to go live directly to your page via RTMP you will see this error message:

Possible Work Around Solutions

You can still share the video on your page without the above requirements.

We highly recommend posting links to the stream on your website and directing your viewers to watch the live stream there.

After live streaming the broadcast, you can download it in the BoxCast Dashboard and upload the video to Facebook to be viewed on demand.

Can I stream to my affected Facebook page via RTMP?

Unfortunately, no. Facebook has deactivated all forms of live streaming, whether directly or from an API unless your account meets the critera.
