Using a control surface like Behringer's X-Touch provides a more streamlined approach to mixing in BoxCast's RemoteMix. Offering tactile feedback in the mixing experience while also allowing you to keep eyes on the event, the X-Touch assists with making adjustments in a more intuitive way and much faster than with a mouse or trackpad.
Supported X-Touch Devices
RemoteMix only supports the following X-Touch models.
The X-Touch Mini and X-Touch One are currently NOT supported.
Configuring X-Touch
Connect your X-Touch device to the computer you will be mixing from. RemoteMix remembers previously used devices and will connect automatically. Note: Only one X-Touch device can be used with RemoteMix at any given time, regardless of how many are physically connected.
Connect X-Touch to Computer
From the USB MIDI connection on the rear of your X-Touch, connect via USB cable to your RemoteMix computer.
Enable X-Touch for Mackie Control (MC) Mode
X-Touch
With power off, press and hold the Select button on channel 1
Power on the X-Touch
Use the knob on channel 1 to select Mackie Control mode
Press the Select button for channel 1 and power cycle the X-Touch
X-Touch Compact
With power off, press and hold the Select button on channel 1
Power on the X-Touch Compact
MC mode will be indicated
X-Touch Extender
With power off, press and hold the Select button on channel 1
Power on the X-Touch Extender
Use the knob on channel 1 to select Mackie Control mode
Enabling X-Touch Access
Upon entering the RemoteMix Dashboard, a pop-up will appear and prompt you to choose whether or not to enable RemoteMix for X-Touch access.
Click the Enable Access button.
Click either Allow while visiting the site or Allow this time.
Locate the X-Touch from the list of control surface options. Click the Connect button to connect your X-Touch with RemoteMix.
Control Surface Operation
Follow Mode
Toggle on Follow Mode to keep the RemoteMix user interface and the X-Touch device visually in sync. As an example, if you navigate to Aux 1-8 on the RemoteMix user interface, then the X-Touch will begin controlling Aux 1-8.
Toggle off Follow Mode to navigate the X-Touch and RemoteMix independent of one another.
Toggling on Follow Mode from the off state will result in the X-Touch device updating to follow your current state in the RemoteMix user interface.
Faders
Type
Type options allow you to determine which of the following your X-Touch's faders are controlling.
Channels

Virtual Groups
Mains
Layer
Layer options will vary slightly from mixer to mixer, but allows you to determine which layer of your mixer the faders are controlling.
Knobs
Select from the dropdown whether your X-Touch's knobs control Pan or Gain.
Control Mapping
Control mapping for each compatible device is slightly different because each control surface has a varying number of faders, buttons and knobs. You are given a control mapping diagram for each device you connect, where you can see which controls are static and what maps back to what on your device.
Common Questions
Which browsers best work with RemoteMix, and does this matter for using X-Touch?
We highly recommend using Chromium-based browsers (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge) with RemoteMix and X-Touch devices.
What might I do if the X-Touch is powered and connected to my computer, but it is not displaying as available to connect to?
Make sure you are not running other apps that use the device (like an instance of Mixing Station or a DAW, for example). If another app was using the device and then closed without releasing the MIDI port, RemoteMix will not display it. Try a hard refresh of the RemoteMix dashboard.
Why am I experiencing significant lagging or jumpiness while using my X-Touch with RemoteMix?
We do not recommend activating RemoteMix in multiple browser tabs or windows. Doing so tends to spike CPU usage and significantly degrades your user experience.
