This guide walks you through the essential steps to set up your OTT account, connect your BoxCast live streams, organize your content, and customize your viewer experience. Let’s get started.

If you'd rather a video walkthrough, we've got one for you here:

Accessing the OTT Dashboard

After signing up and signing in, you’ll land on your OTT Dashboard. On the left-hand menu, you’ll see three key sections:

  • Content: Manage live streams, uploaded videos, and organize them into categories.

  • Layout: Design how content appears to your viewers on your OTT app.

  • Setup: Configure your BoxCast channels, monetization settings, and other general preferences.

Connect Your BoxCast Account

To display BoxCast broadcasts on your OTT platform:

  • Navigate to Setup > Integrations.

  • Click Connect on the BoxCast integration and sign in to your BoxCast account.

When successfully connected, it will show “Connected.”

Create Content Categories

Organizing content into categories makes it easier for viewers to navigate.

  • Go to Content > Categories and click Add Category.

  • Name your category (example: Onboarding) and optionally add a description, publish/expire dates, and make sure to Enable it.

Link Your BoxCast Channels to Categories

Ensure live streams are automatically assigned to the right categories:

  • Navigate to Channels.

  • Assign your BoxCast channel to the corresponding OTT category (e.g., link the Onboarding channel to the Onboarding category).

Enable Individual Broadcasts (Optional)

If you want to feature specific broadcasts not tied to a BoxCast channel:

  • Go to Content > Events > Disabled.

  • Click the Edit icon and enable the event(s).

  • To enable multiple events at once, select them and click Enable in the upper right corner.

Note: Title, description, and thumbnail edits must be made in the BoxCast Dashboard.

Set Up Your Home Page

Customize what your viewers see first:

  • Go to Layout > Collections and create a collection (e.g., include the Onboarding category).

  • Enable the collection.

  • Go to Pages > Home, add a row, select Collection as the type, and choose your collection.

  • Drag and drop rows to reorder the home page layout.

You can preview changes by copying your OTT site URL and refreshing the page as you update content.

Customize the Menu Bar

Enhance navigation for your viewers:

  • Go to Pages > Custom and click Add Page.

  • Add a banner image, name, slug (URL ending), assign a category, and enable the page.

  • Navigate to Menu > Add Page to include this new page in your app’s top menu and reorder it as needed.

Go Live!

When you schedule a broadcast in the BoxCast Dashboard and assign it to the connected channel:

  • The event will display as Upcoming on your OTT platform.

  • Once live, it will show a red dot and a LIVE overlay to viewers.

You’re All Set!

By connecting your BoxCast account, organizing your content, and customizing the layout, you’ve laid the foundation for a professional, engaging OTT experience.
